Speaking & Writing : The purpose of this segment of the test is to assess the test-takers English speaking and writing skills. It typically lasts around 90 minutes and is divided into six sub-sections, which include reading exercises, multiple-choice questions, descriptive images, and an essay-writing task. The essay-writing task is particularly important as it assesses the student’s language proficiency, their understanding of the topic, their perspective on it, and, most importantly, their ability to write effectively.

Reading : The reading section is the second part of the PTE Academic Test, which typically takes around 40 minutes to complete. Its primary objective is to evaluate candidates reading comprehension skills through written prompts. This brief section is divided into five sub- sections to thoroughly examine applicants’ reading abilities.
Listening : The final part of the PTE test is the listening section, which typically lasts for around 55 to 60 minutes. Its primary objective is to assess a students listening comprehension abilities in the English language. This section is distinctive to PTE and plays a crucial role in concluding the examination. It aims to evaluate a students ability to recall what they have heard, and what better way to test this than by dictation? This section is divided into eight parts, including a dictation segment.
